About Us

We are both following God’s call to serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators long-term in Africa. In 2007, Rachel completed her linguistics and exegetical Masters degree at the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics and Dallas Theological Seminary. We left for Tanzania in January 2008. Rachel is involved in Bible translation and is working alongside national Bible translators assisting them with the exegetical and linguistic aspects of the translation. Jonathan is serving as branch finance manager, overseeing the finances of the organization in the whole of Tanzania and Uganda.

God has given Rachel a passion since childhood to work with Wycliffe Bible Translators in an effort to give God’s Word to people who do not have it in their language. Rachel graduated in May 2005 from Evangel University.

In July 2005, she moved to Dallas, Texas to attend DTS (Dallas Theological Seminary) where she is completing a Master’s degree in Biblical Exegesis and Linguistics as part of her training. The linguistics part of her degree is taken at the Wycliffe graduate school in west Dallas.

With Wycliffe, she is working alongside local Bible Translators and teach them linguistic, biblical and theological skills and encourage them as they translate God’s Word for their people.

Jonathan

I worked for 9 years as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Throughout my Christian life I have desired to use my accounting, finance and IT skills to serve God overseas on the mission field.

In March 2004 I joined Wycliffe Bible Translators and committed to serve them using my finance skills. This is a vital ministry as there is a severe shortage of trained professionals on the mission field. This enables those trained in translation work to focus on their task of translating the Bible.

In September 2006, I started serving as a missionary in the Wycliffe International Finance department in Dallas as Finance Systems Operations Manager. This gave me an excellent understanding of how the finances of Wycliffe operate before embarking overseas to work as the organization finance manager in Tanzania.
